Chattahoochee Bend State Park Visitor Center

Georgia’s State Park System is now recognized by the U.S. Green Building Council and verified by the Green Building Certification Institute (GBCI) for developing the first LEED certified State Park in the United States. The Chattahoochee Bend State Park near Newnan achieved Silver LEED certification for energy use, lighting, water and material use, as well as incorporating a variety of other sustainable strategies. By using less energy and water, and maximizing open spaces, LEED certified buildings save money for households, businesses and taxpayers; reduce greenhouse gas emissions; and contribute to a healthier environment.
