Carla is a highly skilled professional in the building industry, with a wealth of experience that encompasses mechanical system design, project management, energy modeling, and sustainability consulting. Throughout her career, she has contributed to numerous high-profile projects, including sports facilities and airports in Los Angeles, Atlanta and Washington, D.C., as well as universities, multifamily residential buildings, and commercial offices. For over 15 years,  Carla has concentrated on driving positive change in the industry by focusing on LEED consulting and highly complex project reviews, specializing in New Construction, Existing Renovation, Core and Shell, and Schools projects. Prior to joining Ecoworks, she served as a Principal at a sustainability consulting firm.

 

As the Managing Director of the Building Performance Studio at Ecoworks for the last 7 years, Carla oversees the development, analysis, and implementation of energy models for a variety of building and infrastructure projects. She ensures that project teams optimize energy performance and meet their sustainability goals. Additionally, Carla manages our commissioning services and operations, ensuring that building systems are designed, installed, and operated efficiently.

 

Her efforts enhance functionality, sustainability, and occupant satisfaction. By guiding clients in achieving various green building certifications—including LEED, WELL, Parksmart, and TRUE Zero Waste—Carla has contributed to millions of square feet of healthier built environments.

 

In her spare time, Carla enjoys cheering for the Pittsburgh Steelers, traveling across the country with her partner and her Frenchie, Bruce, as well as cooking and reading.
