Andrew Zumwalt-Hathaway is a Senior Sustainability Consultant with 25 years of experience working on green building projects across the United States. He was the first LEED Accredited Professional in New York (the 6th in the U.S.) and worked on the very first multi-family high-rise, airline terminal, and presidential library projects in the world to achieve LEED Certification. Andy excels at leading multi-discipline design teams through an integrated approach in design and construction to exceed client goals for sustainability and wellness on complex building projects.
Andy was also the Co-Chair of the New York City Chapter of the AIA’s Committee on the Environment (COTE®) for 5 years, where he was awarded the Vice-President’s Citation for Public Outreach and was invited to address the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations. In addition, he co-chaired the Urban Green Council’s Green Codes Task force in New York City and served as a LEED Faculty member for the US Green Building Council.
Andy enjoys hiking, mountain biking, kayaking, and photography. He can also be found tending his local community garden and volunteers regularly for programs that serve the unhoused in his community.
