Bret has over 17 years developing and executing sustainability solutions for the built environment. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and has worked with large engineering firms including Smithgroup, ARUP before his journey began in sustainability.

 

Bret has extensive experience benchmarking high-performance buildings utilizing green rating systems including LEED, WELL, Fitwel, Living Building, Net Zero, and Envision.  

 

Bret is passionate about the sustainable construction practices and has proudly won over contractors who have shown little interest in sustainability.  He has a knack for getting project teams excited about the potential of their buildings. 

 

He has directed projects from large institutions including Yale, Harvard, Columbia, The Museum of Modern Art and the American Museum of Natural History.

 

He is a foundational member of the Urban Green Council programs committee and has presented at the Greenbuild International Conference.

 

In his off-hours, Bret can be found surfing the waves of Rockaway Beach in NYC. He is also an avid collector, curator and advocate of digital art on the blockchain.
